Cal makes the cover of Business News’ magazine

Few bigger business publications exist in WA than Business News. And after our managing director, Cal Doggett, gave senior journalist Claire Tyrrell an exclusive walkthrough of our Westend on Murray asset—which turned heads in 2023 as Perth CBD’s only major office building transaction—BN thought it more than fitting to place Cal on the cover of their latest magazine.
It’s about knowing what we wanted to achieve. It was a targeted approach.
That’s Cal talking to BN about the original goal of Westend on Murray, previously known only by its address at 503 Murray Street.
After a rebrand and a refurbishment (of its entrance, end-of-trip facilities and entire floors on levels one and six), the once vacant site has now attracted significant tenant interest, including State government agency MyLeave, which have taken up a lease for the first level in the building.
In the article, Cal discusses why we wished for a stronger start to the initial leasing campaign, until realising the tenancy market wanted to see that the works we’d promised them and their representatives had actually been carried out.
As Cal discusses, we didn’t want to be the type of landlord who promised and didn’t deliver. And ensuring we delivered has paid off for us and our investors.
Since the works were complete, in early May, the engagement has been fourfold. We are getting three or four inspections a week.
And now the asset is literally making front page news, going a long way to signal that the Perth CBD leasing market is continuing to heat up (something we pointed to a long time ago with our Perth CBD white paper).
We’re thrilled to have our managing director recognised for the hard work he and the team have put into this asset, ensuring our co-owners see the best outcome possible for their investment and their faith in us.
Thank you, Business News, for the great opportunity to share our story of this brilliant asset. Excitingly, the story has plenty of chapters remaining.
